The annual Watton Senior Citizens Party once again took
place on the 9th December at
Wayland Community High School for around 180 of our over
70’s, thanks again to the
help and generosity of so many members of our Community.

handling the tickets so well, Senior School Managers,
along with the our super cooks,
prepared and cooked the meal, the ingredients of which
were donated once again by
Bowes and Watton Produce. Gary’s Plaice prepared the
vegetables and youngsters
from the school laid out the tables in the main hall.
Rotary, Watton Town Council and
the Chamber of Trade were again the main funders plus
vouchers from the Chamber
of Trade. Breckland Wines provided the glasses. Students
served the meals and
drinks with help from several ex Watton Round Tablers.
Rev. Rod Broughall said
Grace and stayed to help. Father Christmas came along
and made sure that
everyone went home with a present. Friends of the school
served coffee and
Wayland First Responders were on duty. MC for the evening,
Richard Crabtree,
introduced the entertainment, a wide variety of singing
items from the High
School students. Youngsters from Westfield Infants school
sang
carols at the end of the meal.
