Make a difference in Watton; Become a School Governor
Watton
Junior School and Watton Westfield Infant & Nursery School are
in
need of volunteers from the
community to join their Governing Bodies, providing
people with an excellent opportunity
to make an enormous difference in the community.
School Governors are critical
to the effective running of local schools.
As a school Governor responsibilities
include allocating budgets,
appointing senior staff, making
decisions on the school’s policies and direction
and essentially ensuring pupils
are getting the best education possible.
Training and information is
available to all Governors.
School governance is a mutually
beneficial voluntary role - not only does it
benefit the education of potentially
thousands of children but will also give
you the opportunity to develop
new and existing skills.
Training is available for
all Governors.
Governors are people like you.
No formal qualifications are necessary
and anyone who is aged 18
or over and has 6-8 hours a month to spare is
invited to apply. The
most effective Governing Bodies consist of Governors
with a blend of experiences,
from different cultures and age groups,
so whatever your background
you could add enormous value to a local school.
