BLENHEIM TROPHIES
On Saturday 21st June the re-dedication of the British
and American Memorials took place
at Blenheim Grange thanks to the site preparation by
Cofton Ltd. In front of a good
crowd, in pouring rain, the presentation took place of
the Blenheim Trophies,
first presented when the memorials were dedicated in
1990.
The winners this year were:
Wayland Community High School
Jasmine Gunton
St Peter & St Paul Carbrooke
Adam Spalding
Westfield Rebekka
Vansittart
Watton Juniors
Charlotte Palmer
The trophies and certificates were
presented by Air Commodore,
The Honorable Sir Timothy Elworthy
KCVO CBE and Baroness Gillian Shephard. The Air
Commodore first presented the trophies
in 1990. See story below.
Each memorial was then dedicated
by by the Ven Martin Gray, Archdeacon of Lynn.
Following the laying of floral
tributes, the Exortation, Last Post and Two Minutes Silence,
everyone adjourned to the 611 Volunteer
Gliding School for refreshments.
