The Rotary Club of Watton & District held its annual prize giving for the Young Designer
of the Year competition, held amongst GCSE students of Wayland Community  High School
in Watton. Judged by Rotarians Peter Beech and Rod Riley the winner was
Daniel Peters with a device to help young children identify letters of the alphabet
with Adam Lusher as runner up with a model truck to help young children identify shapes.

A competition was also held to get all the Rotary Clubs in District 1080 who are involved
in the Young Designer competition, to have students produce a logo to be used on all district
paperwork relating to the competition. Wayland students produced a wide variety of designs
and one from Charlotte Barker was chosen as district winner. Her design was chosen for its
simplicity and incorporates 100 to celebrate the Rotary centenary.
As well as a certificate she also received £50 for herself and £50 for the school.
