The seat has now been replaced at the Youth Centre in
Harvey Street which hopefully will start to bring
back the families who used to come and sit and watch
their youngsters use this open area in the centre of
Watton for football and other games.
If a Youth Shelter can be built in Stokes Avenue, this
will also provide a meeting point for youngsters who
have nothing else to do and will offer a place to sit
and talk. If this is successful others can be built in other
open areas round the town.
Council tax payers cannot constantly be asked to fund
large scale initiatives for
a small number of youngsters. The Chamber of Trade directory
lists a large
number of organisations and interests that may be able
to help and would welcome new members.
