Wednesday 6th July 2005
172 students from Year 7 to Year 10 received Certificates
of Achievement in
front of a packed audience of family and friends at a
special presentation
evening on July 6th. The Chairman of Governors, Mrs Caroline
White, opened
proceedings and introduced the Head Teacher Mr Michael
Rose. He spoke of
the high quality of the students and the hard work they
had put in to achieve such
good results in Achievement, Progress & Effort, Sporting,
Artistic and Social Skills.
The programme for the evening included musical items from
the students and the
main speaker was Mr David Coates, Operations Director
of Racing Technology at
Hingham. He spoke about the work they do, as part of
the VW group, to help enhance
the image of the company. He spoke about the tremendous
amout of money and effort put
in to get the two Bentley cars to win Le Mans in
2003. The 'Bentley Boys' success was
totally due to the desire of the whole team to be winners.
They produced two cars
and the drivers and support teams only thought of winning
and this
positive attitude produced the desired result. First
& Second.
