Watton Twinning Association
Saturday 23rd February saw the annual dinner celebrating
the signing
of the charter between Watton & Weeze in 1987. Over
30 members and friends
attended the dinner which was addressed by the
President,
Keith Gilbert, the Mayor of Watton.
The AGM of the Association is on Monday 31st March at
8pm
at Wayland Hall followed by a cheese & wine get together.
A
warm welcome is extended to anyone interested in our
twinning
link with Weeze in West Germany. This small, friendly
town has
in its boundaries a Ryanair base on the former RAF Laarbruch.
A group of our German friends are coming to Watton from
the 9th to
the 13th May as part of the bi-annual exchanges between
our
two communities. It is hoped a group of twinners can
visit
Weeze in September for its 'Kermes' celebration
